I am a small apartment owner and I manage my own units. I found Happy About Apartment Management helpful. It is always good to see how the big guys are managing larger complexes, and the format of the book was very accessible. If you only use one of the suggestions, the book will pay for itself.

Happy About Apartment Management is a little book with a lot of good information. Anyone contemplating property acquisition or suffering from landlord fatigue should read this before attempting to manage their own property. It’s well organized and concise and certainly answers more questions than I could anticipate about some of the downsides of managing my own property.
